7 teachings by Buddha that will benefit your mindset and lifestyle.

Fed up with life struggles! read some meaningful lines.

“Buddhism is considered as a system which mainly based on the ethical principle of life and moral values “ by Gautama Buddha — the philosopher.

These teachings which I am going to list out today is from the book PHILOSOPHY Of BUDDHA- BY ARCHIE J. BAHM.

These are not from the whole book as a review but which I consider is from the “theory of karma” and “ethics in Buddhism “ from pages 100–129.

  1. We are only responsible for own happiness and our own misery.

Man has got everything in his hands, has possible to change his our own karma, and can influence the result of his future by his deeds. To change the karma of bad deeds he has to change it by purifying his mind and live wisely throughout, but not by just praying, Worshiping supernatural or forcing his body to do so.

If our mind is full of good thought and optimism then we naturally become happy and full of happiness but on the other side if we are in course to do something negative then it becomes disturbed .

Man has power, strength to change the whole situation whether its happiness, or struggle into bettering tomorrow, if his karma is good. Today is what we have sown in past and future is what we sow today will reap accordingly.

“Happiness does not depend on what you have or who you are. It solely relies on what you think.” — Buddha

2. Mind your intention.

If your intentions are good toward anything you do then independent karma will give you the right result. On the other side if your intentions are bad and you are doing good or bad deeds it will result in negative only.Karma is impersonal, natural lava that operates strictly in accordance with our action. “

It includes physical, verbal, or mental actions in form of words, deeds, and thoughts. our physical and verbal actions dependent on our mental thinking like decision making or speaking out to somebody .

our success, happiness, livelihood, peace depends on our mental perspective, actions, and speech. Ex: if you are abusing somebody for sake doing your work then it will not be that fruitful to you.

“You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.” — Buddha.

3. Be a kind speaker.

  • Avoid harsh, rude, abusive words that will hurt others or bring disharmony, hatred in your relations. Be truthful, open and calm in your way of presenting towards others because that might come back to you in future.
  • Speak at the needed situation and time which actually needs your words. Ignore the hurting words delivered by others to you, just wait for the right time of Karma to react.
  • If we our controlling our speech is apart of right thought. Keep in mind one harsh, slander, gossip can hurt other like a killing and one kind word can win the heart and mind of many.

“A man is not called wise because he talks and talks again; but is he peaceful, loving, and fearless then he is in truth called wise.”

4. Society is in your mindset.

  • Your actions, faculty of speech, thoughts must react to develop a harmonious society.
  • You don’t have the right to judge somebody because you are also a part of this society. Just implement the Understanding of karma into your life and guide it to others.
  • Mind it abusive gossip spoken by your tongue will come back to you one day.“ The mind is everything that you think you become “ — Gautama Buddha.

“Imagine that every person in the world is enlightened but you. They are all your teachers, each doing just the right things to help you,”

5. Join the peaceful occupation.

Yes, the profession you love to do must be your career/ means of earning as it will give you a peaceful, satisfying livelihood, and able to cherish your surrounding. It will also make you more confident in that field because you are a master of that profession in your own way.

“ I want everything “ policy must be avoided. Your profession or practices must contribute to developing a better society, but not just filing your bank accounts.

“An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea.” — Buddha.

6. Don’t expect from others.

Our biggest enemy of happiness is our own expectations, that we put on our close ones and if that doesn’t happen according to your wish you become sad, depressed, and ruthless. learn to accept things and life lessons.

Just do what is in your will, don’t push or blame others for your conditions and karma. Find peace in yourself to fight with the journey of life which is a struggle.

“The whole secret of existence is to have no fear. Never fear what will become of you, depend on no one. Only the moment you reject all help are you freed.”

7. Concentrate on present.

All emotions like happiness, sorrow, joy are in our mind we only control it and react accordingly. Put your mind in the present what is going on in front of you.

“ The past is already gone, the future is not yet here. There’s only one moment for you to live.”- Buddha

If you think of your past every time and live in that only, it will make you sad and depressed. Try to live in the present as, it is in your hands and you also have to build your future on this foundation of what you got today.

“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipates troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.”

Bottom lines:

Live your life fully as you can with the right intention and hard work towards your responsibilities in this universe. In your day to day life you must try to neglect hurting others and avoid the dangerous habit of jealousy that can ruin your happiness to a big extent in the future.

‘Mind your own business’ is perfect policy as by following it you automatically avoid judging others and stop feeling jealous of a second person success. The habit of noticing others can degrade your personality through continuous negative thinking. As you start wasting time in gossiping other’s life you can forget your own path.

Just be calm and do good deeds towards life and human being as life is a second make of struggle that only can be lived by hard work and belief in yourself. Philosophies of Buddha can change your life in many ways keep on reading related to them.
