My Beautiful Angel is my boyfriend. I have been with him for almost 2 years now and I love him very dearly.

I met him in grade 9 science class — but the chemistry though, yikes! 😂 — we didn’t like each other at first.

After about year, I developed a small crush on him and tried to get him to notice me. All my friends teased me about liking him, giving me goofy “googly eyes” whenever he came by. Oh, God, I would always get flustered whenever he walked by…and his smile, ooohhh-my-world, his smile always made me melt (still does😊).

The first time I ever asked him out he flat out told me no and that he only wanted to be friends — yeah, I know, dumbbell! I went home that day almost crying, but I wasn’t willing to give up. Boyfriend was gonna love me; he just didn’t know it yet.

About a week later, I started walking home from school, coincidentally — wink*, wink* — the same way he walked home each day. So every day after school we would walk together, until about a block away from my house, where we split off and go our separate ways.

Oooh, So many good memories; we would walk, and talk, all the while I tried to persuade him to give me his number…alas, he never did…until much later 😂.

A few weeks later I got his number and we started talking and texting. Soon — finally — he started to develop a crush on me. Wanting to move things along, every other day I would ask him, “…on a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you like me…?” Eventually, that number got to 10; and satisfied he was ready, we started dating.

One night, my family and I were having dinner at a restaurant in town; and just as we shown to our table, I looked over at the table by the window and who do I see? Yes, my angel, having dinner with his family.

I played it cool, did a little wave and tried not to stare — too late; my mom, Mrs. Nosy herself, caught my googly eyes and knew what was up…she then proceeded to tell the whole group that we had started dating.

Oh, my god, I wanted to die I was so embarrassed; but to my considerable relief and surprise, when his parents found out they were so happy for him. Turns out, they already liked me — again, why wouldn’t they? I am awesome.

Sometime after we started “officially” dating, I was trying for our first kiss — I will be honest, I may have seemed chill, but I was quite scared.

I talked to my “other” dad — the crazy one and my mom’s current husband — and he reminded me that I have always followed my heart and my instincts so I should not stop now.

So finally that day came; and as we were about to say our goodbyes, I gently grabbed his face and plated a tender kiss — it was more a tiny peck, but for me was a big deal, OK…?

The deal done, I just ran home without looking back. Waving goodbye, and yelling, “…see you tomorrow…!” I was soooo happy.

Now you may ask yourself, why do I call him My Angel? Well, we were looking for cute nicknames to give each other, and I started calling him Angel and he started calling me Butterfly. It all fit and since then it has stuck.

All I can really say is that he really is my angel and I am his butterfly. We found each other at school — with a big help from me —and honestly, he is the sweetest and kindest person you will ever meet.

I love him with all my heart, and can’t wait to see what our future holds.

Hope you’re all good. Stay safe💖

The drawing at the top was created with my own type of wedding in mind. It’s represented to be on a beach or somewhere in front of a river/lake/ocean sometime in the night. Drawing this was very fun. It was drawn on a blank white paper, and was drawn with a 0.7mm mechanical pencil

Bodies on the Line 3

A 10-year visual arts project

Bodies on the Line was a 10-year visual arts project which I ran from 2008 to 2018. During this period a total of 106 models (who were all volunteers) came and posed for me. They also wrote their ideas or comments on the actual artwork.

I will, over time, try to share a few more examples.
