A Microfiction

David, with half-opened eyes, was lying on the floor in a corner of his prison cell. He was thinking. How happy and prosperous he was in Washington a decade ago! On that dreadful night, he was coming back by his car heavily drunk from the late-night party and met an accident in which a cop was killed because of rash driving.

He was sentenced to ten years of rigorously harsh imprisonment. Next Monday he would be completing his sentence. He was churning. People and their ways could have been so much changed for such a long time. His fiancee got married two years before. He had lost his aged parents too. He would have to learn fresh ways of life.
