DARE

A POEM

Photo by Kelly Sikkema on Unsplash

Dare to close my heart
Dare to close the doors shut
Dare to put the bars on from within
Dare to be my own confidant, my own comfort
Dare to love my heart and need no other

Dare to look smugly beyond the brass doors
To look at those who couldn’t care for my heart
Dare to stick out my tongue at them
For carelessly handling my precious heart
Leaving it cracked and in pieces

Dare them to open the brass doors — If they can
I challenge the searcher, the brave
Only the one will know the key
Only the one will turn the lock
Only he will be rewarded with all of me

I offer it no more freely
For they do not know its value, it’s priceless
Henceforth they will toil to draw near it
I vow never again to give it freely
Away, Away!! Leave me nurse my broken heart alone

O Perfect Love Despairing

O Imperfect Love Despairing

A POEM

O IMPERFECT LOVE DESPAIRING

LOVE !!!. I was told you were a beautiful thing
Butterflies, sunflowers and blue skies
Endless, fruitful and full
Rapid heartbeats, kisses and passionate nights

But alas, tis but a lie
You are a deceitful wretch come to steal the joy of youthful love and flee
To set the heart and flesh on fire without reprieve
Then cast down and stomp on it with glee

A thief — That is what you are
Your trail of broken, hardened hearts trails behind you
An almost numberless numb throng
An army of despaired souls cursing the day they crossed your path

But alas you wicked soul continue on your conquering quest
The next doe-eyed lass and puberty stricken lad
You scheme and plan till your deed is done
Then wring your hands in an evil triumphant laugh

Oh!! Love !! Had I known, I would never have opened my heart to you
You set on fire then remove the coals
You fan the embers then withdraw the life flame
You work the furnace then close the shop

You look on as winter sets in
The cold ice hardens the heart
Devoid of warmth, it’s beat slows down
A numbing pulse all that is left
Why Love? Why do you cherish the anguish of suffering souls?
Love-lost children, you leave us alone
Alas, you didn’t tell us that the power to sustain was beyond us
A power so great it demands us

We strive and strive and fall and fail
O!! hearts of men — is this suffering quest worth our blood and sweat?
Should we not accept defeat and reclaim our lot?

And declare that love has won
Love — the mighty one has won again

At Least They Are in a World Now, Where Humanity is Not Just a Word.

Disappointment and Anger over a horrific form of meditated murder of an innocent elephant and her unborn child in Kerala because trust me it is nothing short of murder.

The image is taken from CARTOONISTSATISH

And they said, “No matter what sign you bring us, to bewitch us with, we will not believe in you.” So we let loose upon them the flood, and the locusts, and the lice, and the frogs, and blood — all explicit signs — but they were too arrogant. They were sinful people.

~[Quran, 7:132–133]

And We call ourselves HUMAN.
Really? I think we have never insulted the word HUMAN more.

We are complaining about the suffering that we are enduring because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Really? What right do we exactly have to complain?

We say, we are being punished by God in the form of this pandemic.
Really? Don’t you think we deserve that?

I have never felt more disappointed, more ashamed to call myself a HUMAN before.

A HUMAN?
Really? I don’t think we have a right to call ourselves HUMAN.

I have never felt more of a MONSTER before.
I have never felt more disappointed before.

Every day, I try to see the positives, and every day I see something crueler.

First, that Hindu-Muslim fight over CORONA spread in India.
Second, people mistreating doctors who are risking their lives to save others.
Then, I read about George Floyd.
Now, this incidence.
A pregnant elephant was given firecrackers wrapped in fruit, which burst into her mouth and caused an inevitable death.

Where is the humanity?

Do we have anything else left?
No, If we have? Do it now. Do it goddamit. Do that also.

Because no matter what, Our KARMA will catch us. It will burn us. It should burn us.

You see the irony here?

We talk about humanity, help, protection, care.
So true. No?
We talk.
We only talk.

Because our actions DO NOT support, what we talk.

I never felt more guilty.
I never felt more disappointed.

Kerala has the highest literacy rate in India.
Weird?
Don’t be shocked.
Literacy doesn’t necessarily define — we are Educated.
or maybe we are educated.
EDUCATED MORON!

DO NOT HELP!
For God’s sake!
DO NOT HELP!
If you don’t have good intention.
If you have malice in your heart.

HEART? what heart? Do we even have a heart?

What wrong did that innocent do to us?
Tell me?
What did she do?

She was hungry. Goddamit!
She was pregnant. For crying out loud.

She was PREGNANT.

And what did we do, at the time like this?
Especially at the time like this?

Don’t we learn something? Something that this virus taught us?
We are all same.
Every fucking life is the same.
Every fucking life is important.

And what did the unborn child of that elephant do to us?
What was our problem with that child?
Tell me! What?
Tell me! Goddamit!

I am ashamed.
I am disappointed.
I feel guilty.

After over invading the territory of animals, polluting the earth to its core, damaging the environment beyond repair, who gives us the fucking right to take TWO innocent lives like this?

If Covid-19 outspread, locusts attacks, warning for incoming storms and cyclones are not the warning enough for us that mother nature is reprimanding, then it is beyond my fucking intelligence that what is?

Don’t forget, we have to reply to our KARMA.
We ourselves have to pay for our KARMA.

This time, be ready.
Because we are going to get, what we deserve.

Open your eyes HUMAN.
Open them now, before it’s too late.
