What Makes Your Child Grow Mature

What Makes Your Child Grow Mature?

People may think of their child to become mature as they grow by age.

But it is not necessarily important for these two traits to go side by side.

It may be true for a fraction of population. But in many cases children grow by age but don’t get mature. While in other cases some children become mature in early age.

So don’t confuse any body’s mental growth with physical growth.

The time period in a person’s life that prevails between childhood and adulthood is actually a learning zone where kids learn to behave, act, respond, and perform in response to sensation and impression conceived from their family, friends and environment in all aspects of life.

Maturity is not determined by age only. It is determined by various parameters like, gender, social responsibilities, commitment to one’s objective in life, norms and ethics of a regional community, economic conditions of a family.

How fast or early one gets mature can be determined by a measure of pressure, responsibilities exert on a person.

Level of maturity may get differ for different persons relying upon their capabilities under same set of conditions applied.

In some societies girls are considered to get mature in early age, in some south Asian countries. Reason behind is, girls are involved in daily house chores with their mothers or got married in early age which makes them responsible, committed and directed, while boys can have to bear economic burden of family no matter what age they are, which brings them to maturity. And last but not least maturity may be the result of social norms and ethical values of a particular community. Societies put pressure on their young population to become committed to a meaningful and purposeful life with no space left for a nonsense life.

The Magic Hour of the Twilight

He came into my life, bold and gentle, feeding me thirsting for love!

“Courtesy of Misa Ferreira de Rezende”

I like when I enter my house in the afternoon and I do not intend to leave later. I breath deeply relieved as I close the door. I do not fear the dangerous time of the afternoon like the character Ana from the short story “Love”. Perhaps because now I am older and my mother used to say that with maturity almost all the issues will be resolved naturally. Perhaps because I like this time of the afternoon when the day is almost night and honestly my nature is inclined to gloom, to shadows, the colors of twilight and the whispers of the night. Or just perhaps “God gave me a love in the time of maturity … because I have a love”, as the poet said.

And what is a love? It is someone who came to meet me and we started walking side by side. We are not soul mates, quite the contrary, we are infinitely different souls. With him I learned to love differences.

What is a love? That’s a guy who is at home and when I arrive I say, hello baby! And I know he is upstairs and he’s going to wave me down the stairs. And if he doesn’t, I realize the house is nothing without his presence. That’s the guy who when I complain of a headache, affectionately , he pretends to take the pain away pressing a point in the middle of my forehead and another one in my spine because (he explains to me) they both converge on the tantric meridian that makes the upward force to the 7th Chakra, located at the top of the head.

What is a love? For me it is what comes to us “always more than what comes in miracles”. Now I can better understand this verse by Cecília Meireles.

However, I was only really sure that he was the love of my life when we enjoyed coffee and bread for a long time watching the sunset in some afternoon. I felt a happiness that pulsed so strongly in my chest that I thought I would die from exploding my heart. Never life had seemed so simple, so right, so full, so perfect! I closed my eyes to retain that magical moment and keep it in the most secret corner of my soul. He was my love who came into my life, bold and gentle, feeding my devastated body and soul thirsting for love. I just remember that I had a great urge to cry of tenderness. I understood that this could be what people say love is.

And when the magic hour of twilight comes, I fall enchanted and watch the last rays of the setting sun and the miracle of the day that becomes night without we can realize it. And I feel shamelessly happy because I have a love.
